INTENDED USE
The machine is used for sterilization of health care wastes specifically infectious and sharps (not applicable to pathological or chemical) using steam at high temperature and pressure. It adopts crushing of waste and exhaust cold air process prior to sterilization using a series of vacuum and pressure pulses

PROCEDURE
1
Loading
Medical waste of 30kg/batch equivalent to 20kg/hr at garbage density of 90-120kg/m3 is manually loaded through the feed door

Shredding
Medical waste is shredded into small pieces with mesh size of 20mm prior to sterilization

Degassing
Vacuum pump removes excess gas to prevent condensation inside the sterilization chamber

Heating and Sterilization
Medical waste is sterilized at 134°C with a total cycle time of 45 minutes and a pressure of ̴0.22 MPa to kill all viruses and bacteria

Cooling and Drying
Vacuum pump removes steam to facilitate drying. Air is then permitted to flow inside the tank to normalize the pressure

Draining
Drain valve automatically opens to remove excess hot water in the sterilization chamber

Unloading
Treated medical waste is manually unloaded through the unloading door

Water Cooling
Drain water is cooled to <30°C temperature prior to water treatment

Water Treatment
Cooled waste water is then treated before releasing to environment
